SUMMARY:2022 CCBN Health Equity Accord
DESCRIPTION:Click HERE to Register: \nIf natural immunity is ineffective\, why is it used successfully for monoclonal antibody therapy? \nWhy are those infected with COVID who are "partially vaccinated" included in infection rates of the "unvaccinated" instead of the "vaccinated"? \nHow is it that a COVID infection in a person who is vaccinated is labeled a "breakthrough" infection but a COVID infection in a person with natural immunity is labeled "a result of being unvaccinated"? Wait a minute\, do they even test for natural immunity? \nHere's your chance to talk about the COVID double talk and in the process discover straight talk that will equip the public with unadulterated facts to make informed decisions for consent based off facts instead of coercion. \nCCBN kicks off its Informed Consent Initiative at this year's CCBN Health Equity Accord. Be a part of the movement. Share Your Testimony. \nSpecial thanks to this year's sponsor: \nClick HERE to Register. \n

SUMMARY:ORGANIZATION SEARCH AND FIND
DESCRIPTION:ORGANIZATION SEARCH AND FIND: \nSo often\, people of color and other underrepresented communities are not told about opportunities that could benefit their education or careers resulting in students of color and other underrepresented students having to literally “work” their way through college instead of benefiting from funding that will allow them time to concentrate on their studies to successfully graduate from college - and in a timely manner. \nAll too often\, we have straight A students who are not told about merit scholarships they would qualify for but are instead told of need based scholarships they do not qualify for\, leaving our students without proper funding for college and resulting in them having to work low wage jobs that are not enough to make ends meet\, let alone fund a college education. Situations like these carry over into workplaces as well… \n  \nSound like you? \n  \nThe ORGANIZATION SEARCH AND FIND event is one method the Colorado Council of Black Nurses Inc (CCBN) is using to fulfill our mission to “increase college matriculation and successful graduation rates among Black and other underrepresented students.” This free event will introduce those seeking higher education and career advancement to organizations that can provide information\, funding\, and/or mentoring to support successful graduation and entry into practice. \nStart here to find out about organizations that can service you\, and where you can serve\, through nursing school and after entry into practice. Don’t think you can afford to belong to more than one organization at a time? Think Again. Don't think your voice or contributions matter? Think Again! Register HERE and find out the how and the why on Saturday\, January 22nd at 3:00 pm and/or Tuesday\, January 25th at 5:30 pm. \nTake the opportunity to learn about these professional Nursing organizations that have impact and about organizations that impact the profession of Nursing: \n\n\n\n\n\nAmerican Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics\nAmerican Nurses Association\n\n\n\n\n\nChi Eta Phi\n\n\n\nColorado Council of Black Nurses Inc\n\n\n\nColorado Nurses Association\n\n\n\nFuture Voices\n\n\n\nNurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health\n\n\n\nPeer Nurse Mentor Experience\n\n\n\nPhi Theta Kappa\n\n\n\nSigma Theta Tau\n\n\n\nSpace Generation Advisory Council\n\n\n\nStudent Nurse Association on your campus\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE to receive the event link. Registration closes 1/25/2022 at 5:15 pm. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \n

SUMMARY:CCBN Space Talks #3: Teachers and Space
DESCRIPTION:This month's featured panelist represents how a teacher can contribute to the success or the destruction of a child's innovation and space dreams as early as elementary school. Aerospace Engineer and Educator Valerie Brown Gill was told by her third grade teacher that she would amount to nothing because she read slow; however\, thanks to her tenacity\, a strong parent support system\, and the advantage of being a slow reader\, Valerie was able to graduate from a 5 year engineering program in 3.5 years and went on to pursue her space dreams as an officer in the US Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base\, during the time of and at the location of the historic Enterprise landings. Hear her story and think tank with other passionate educators to further the conversation about the influence on educators in fostering the ingenuity and talents of their students. Let's use what we discover to promote space for the next generation. \n  \nJoin us and a panel of expert educators in elementary through graduate school on our mission to introduce students to space as a real possibility! \n"The barriers that have been used to keep nurses out of the space program are the same barriers that are used to discourage youth from seeing themselves as an integral part of space reality – especially those in marginalized communities.
