The Colorado Council of Black Nurses, Inc., has several scholarships for high school through college students in under-represented populations who are interested in or are pursuing the Nursing profession at a secondary or postsecondary learning institution within the state of Colorado. Please click on the appropriate scholarship to apply. APPLICATIONS OPEN FEBRUARY 1st and CLOSE JULY 1st.
Bernard F. Gipson Sr. Nurse Science Scholarship is available to students enrolled in a pre-nursing program including but not limited to high school health track, CNA, LPN, or in the prerequisite stage of a Nursing degree at an accredited college or school of Nursing within the state of Colorado. Awards are from $50-$500.
Barbara Tunley Crenshaw Nursing Scholarship is available to students enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program in the state of Colorado. Awards are $1,000.
COMPLETED applications (including official transcripts and recommendations) must be entered online, emailed, or postmarked no later than 11:59 pm, July 1st yearly to [email protected]. With the exception of high school health track students, applications are reviewed from February to July, and interviews for applicant hopefuls for the ensuing year begin the second week of July.
Attendance at the annual Scholarship Award ceremony held yearly in October is required as a stipulation of award.
