2021 CCBN Space Expo: Ages 13-19 years

DID YOU KNOW THERE IS NO AUDIBLE SOUND IN SPACE?

It has been said that there is no sound in space because sound doesn't travel in a vacuum - which is the condition in space; however scientists are discovering that there is plenty of sound in space but since sounds travel at a much lower frequency, humans just can't hear them, which is where the statement, "In space no one can hear you scream" comes from. Like in space, at times we may feel that no one hears us and that no one is listening. Advocacy is one way you can be heard. To advocate is to publicly speak up for, or speak out against, a cause or action. Do you speak up for yourself or others? Is there a cause you are passionate about? Let your voice be heard about your outlook on space like today's featured presenters whose voices may be the voices that lands the first woman on the moon and the first woman on Mars.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know the "A" in STEAM stands for art? Many scientists use art as a healthy way to let go of stress and rest parts of the brain. Life can be stressful but coloring or using these pages to make your art doesn't have to be. Let your imagination blast off. Have FUN and feel free to upload your favorite finished art piece so we can enjoy it too! Download the below coloring book to practice resting parts of your brain and letting go of stress. Anyone can upload the artwork they've made from this coloring book and have your finished piece of art shown for all of Colorado to see (no stress here!). We will showcase all (appropriate) artwork on Friday, October 1, 2021 on the CCBN Space Expo Channel. Special "THANKS!" to Annette Cannon PhD, RN for making this coloring book just for the CCBN Space Expo! Enjoy!
