CCBN Scholarship Program

The Colorado Council of Black Nurses, Inc., has several scholarships for high school through college students in under-represented populations who are interested in or are pursuing the Nursing profession. CCBN's robust Scholarship Program is a proven resource for Nursing program completion, successful entry into practice, and preparation for graduate level education through:

  • Much needed funding for traditional and nontraditional Nursing students
  • Funding for nurse pathway students pursuing the Nursing profession
  • Mentoring and other wraparound support services,
  • Opportunities for professional networking and community engagement

CCBN has awarded over $36,000 in scholarships over the past 5 years alone to students pursuing the profession of Nursing thanks to private donors, grants from organizations invested in student success and/or the mission of equitable health such as the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI), Pfizer, and Connect for Health Colorado, sponsorships of Scholar events that help fund the CCBN Scholarship Fund such as from Denver Public Health and Environment, Front Range Area Education Center (FRAHEC), UCHealth, and Wellpower, and from donations and other supports from the CCBN membership.

Scholarships are available through CCBN to students in high school, technical school, and undergraduate programs appropriate to the Nursing track. Application deadline for scholarships is July 1st annually.

Participation at the CCBN Scholarship Soirée, CCBN's annual scholarship award ceremony held yearly in October, is required for participants in the CCBN Scholarship Program.
