100 Nurses for 100 Legislators: The Faces of Nursing in Colorado

April 5, 2021 @ 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

What & Who: The Faces of Nursing by the Colorado Nurses Association
When & Where: Monday, April 5, 2021 at 12 noon-2 pm on the Capitol West Steps

Thirty Nurses will represent Colorado Nurses and their profession via 2x3ft posters to remind Legislators
of the 24/7 work done in our communities, both urban and rural, for each Coloradan.

Over 120 Nurses, including 3 CCBN/ECCBN members and 2 former CCBN members, are represented in 20 posters by Nurses of the Colorado Nurses Association (CNA) to recognize the diversity of nurses and our continued presence in every facet of our lives throughout Colorado.

76% of the House and Senate Districts are portrayed in 100 Nurses for 100 Legislators booklets given to
each Legislator on Monday, March 17. This project will be further presented on Monday, April 5 on the
Capitol’s West Steps via the posters held by Nurses. Nurses volunteered for the project by including
their photos with some words of their work as well as noting their House and Senate Districts.

For legislation and regulation, CNA represents Registered Nurses (RN) and Advance Practice Registered
Nurses (APRN) including Certified Nurse Specialists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Certified
Nurse Midwives, and Nurse Practitioners. Within our profession, Nurses are associated and certified in
over 100 specialties, educated to levels of doctorates, and are encouraged to continually stay up-to-date
with the cares, treatments and medications.

Masks, which say "Great Colorado Nurse" were donated by CCBN Founder Dr. Margie Cook APRN and were specially designed and dedicated for this day with the recognition of our roles in
maintaining ‘health by example.’ The group volunteering to hold the posters is limited to 30 nurses to maintain physical distancing while personally hold their colleagues in esteem and acknowledgement for our diversity, commitment, and perseverance.
